Hometown Renovation is an inspirational 6 Hour Mini-Series docu-drama that follows A-list celebrity makeup artist Billy B. (think Lady Gaga, Dixie Chicks, Sharon Stone and more) as he juggles his L.A./N.Y. career and his true passion - saving his hometown of Aberdeen, Miss. (population 6,415), one building at a time. His mission borders on obsession. Yet at the heart of his extraordinary journey is an undeniably universal theme: that no matter where life may take you, there is no place like home.

29-year-old Ilona and her boyfriend have just moved into a new apartment in a block of flats. When the building’s renovation begins soon afterwards and she befriends Oleg, one of the Ukrainian construction workers, her idyllic notions of a fulfilling life as she approaches thirty start to crumble, like the old plaster on the walls.

A trilogy of stories: Besides her daily work, mother Doina tries to manage the renovation of the family's apartment. Her son Alex can hardly find any time for both the renovation and his girlfriend as the deadline for his Master's thesis comes close. His grandmother Flori insists on trying to help the family although her support is not always welcome.

Hometown is an American dramedy series than ran on CBS from August 22 to October 15, 1985. The series was a direct adaptation of the smash hit 1983 movie The Big Chill, and centered around the same premise as the film: a group of friends all in their 30s, who had reunited after traveling separate paths following their college days in the 1960s. Upon their reunion, they found that they were even more so an integral part of each other's lives in the 1980s. Julie and Dinah Kirgo served as executive producers, with Barnet Kellman directing most of the episodes. Hometown was produced by Kingette Productions in association with Paramount Television.

A couple of poor lovers has to break up as the woman cannot but marring a son of a rich family. Disappointed, the man goes to Seoul and becomes a big star singer. On the other hand, she lives an unhappy life since her husband is addicted to gambling. Hearing the bad news he comes back to his hometown to persuade her husband and his friends to stop gambling. As they do not accept his advice he makes them give in by force. Then he goes back to Seoul praying for her happiness.
